Nest is a swinging furniture, which is usable for all generations due to it is form and functioning.
It is a swinging sofa!
Why the form of a bowl?
The bowl captures. The bowl holds save and takes care of what it contains / what is inside of it. In nature you can find the form all too often: for example the bird’s nests. The nest of a bird is camouflaging, warming and holds the chicks together. The use of different materials secures a warm, comfortable and secure feeling.
The sofa consists of two parts. This creates a seating height without the need of complicated and expensive constructions (such as used in classical sofas). The form of the furniture is influenced by the production process of „Formfleece“. Polyester fibre – fleece mats are heated in a special oven and then placed in a cold aluminium mould. After a few minutes, the fibre – fleece cools down to become dimensionality stable. Precise Robot technology cuts the parts and generates a sharp edge. This edge is used to stabilise the outer form and to hold the inner form. It is also the brake for the swinging movement. The edge gives the design a special formal language.
Opening the furniture is an attractive highlight. The big, voluminous form can be used wisely. Within the sofa there is an empty space that can be used to store pillows and blankets for a cosy movie night. The red bands will guide you to open the object. Additionally you could even use only the upper lying surface.
The design is straight and structured but also playfully inviting you to sit down. It seems so comfortable and cosy, that all you want is to sit down. The low cut back allows the user to look around and to observe the surroundings. The low seat of the furniture secures an easy hop on.
It is not possible to tilt over; the round form at the outside is specially constructed to stop the swinging movement.
The „Formfleece“ is a very warm and soft material. It is easy to clean and there are many options to colour it. A special effect is, that “Formfleece” is sound absorbing. This is a good property for the interior area. The swinging is quietly and the movement is slow.
The times of scratchy and noisy skids are over.
„Nest“ is perfect for the living space, office and contract furniture. You can also use it as an outdoor furniture for sunny days.

Restrained, flexible, authentic: the range 2000 expresses the renowned heritage of Thonet in contemporary form.
The bentwood sofa recites our origins in a contemporary way. The sofa 2002 and armchair 2001 with a high recognition value are based on an airy bentwood frame that wraps around a down-to-the-floor lush seat cushion and forms the armrests. The filigree wooden bracket gives the sofa and armchair an especially lightweight look – they also impress as freestanding pieces in any environment. The sofa’s loose backrest cushions and side cushions can be individually combined. Thanks to its reduced form and high seating comfort, the bentwood sofa is not only suited for private use but also serves as a social meeting point in modern office landscapes. The ottoman 2002 H reflects the volume and seams of the seat cushions of the armchair and sofa, allowing for the arrangement of entire lounge landscapes that create a dynamic and harmonious group picture.
The solid bentwood of the sofa and armchair is available in stained or lacquered beech or in oiled, lacquered or stained ash. The cushions can be purchased individually with a wide range of cover materials to choose from.
The cutting board has a luminous surface. It is coated by the novel illuminant OLED. This OLED - Light is a cutting board, table lamp, wall lamp, ambient light and it is mobile. The thin glass surface is scratch resistant and the OLED -layer is safe between two glasses. It is a warm and bright light that does not blind you and it is dimmable. Perfect for transparent ingredients like fish, onions, lemon, etc. The docking station is for loading the batteries and bringing the light in a standing position.
OLED – Panels are very thin and extremely light with non-glaring surface lights. Compared to normal bulbs, OLED´s are significantly more efficient and get more than 40 lumen pro watt; which is even more than conventional halogen lamps.
The OLED – cutting board has a little battery inside of the wooden end. It will be loaded by a magnetic induction in the docking station, such as the loading process of an electric toothbrush. To switch off/on you have to tip over the red dot. By sliding over the red dots, you can control the intensity of light. The cutting board has a luminous surface. Fresh Alps Butter
The aim of the design work is to create, with a new aproaches, new concepts of utilization to attract new target groups. This project is in cooperation with the Weidenhammer Packaging – Group, Packvision and the students of Communication Design and Industrial Design of the HTW – Berlin.
The idea is to give the feeling of a natural wooden butter tub by the molded the wood – structure. You can feel the wood by touching the package. There is no more plastic – wooden – print - graphic that always seems like artificial and old – school. The form gives you an association of lacquered white wood. The graphic design is colourful, flashy and loud. There are different colours for different butter sorts.
Due to the three – dimensional form it is a special experience to touch the packaging and you can
literally feel the wood which is a familiar feel. The form is spontaneous like the nature and gives you an exiting experience.
The graphic design is fresh and clean like butter. The colours a very modern, you will easy find the packaging in the overfilled fridge in supermarket. This is a new form for the conventional butter packaging. You open and close the packaging as always and you can close it to keep it fresh.
The 250g butter is an old - schooled weight. In single house holding you do not need so much butter. 125g are sufficient. No more butter – corpse in the refrigerator.
On the table the design fits perfect to the ensemble of products. You do not need separate tableware to present your butter in a good way.

I was inspired by the flying – movement – study of Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 – 1519) and Karl Wilhelm Otto Lillienthal (1848 – 1896). Both have taken biological examples to understand the process of flying. They studied for example the wing form of a wild goose or the wing – spread of bats. There are drawings of the functionality and structure of the wings. These aesthetic structures and pictures I tried to recreate in my own language.

How does the transportation of the future look like? The airship AEROFLOTTI shows a vision of a new transportation for the aerospace. AEROFLOTTI moves itself by rotation, screwing movement’s trough the air. Like the ship´s propeller, the air propeller is moving the mass (air), and the object gets in forward motion. Significant is the bloated form of an airship or zeppelin. This form seems lazy and slow but it is the most aerodynamic form. The movement is rigid, gliding and slow with an exact and easy manoeuvrability.
